We started celebrating Thursday at the 67th Rodeo of The Ozarks!
It was fun and educational!
A few things I learned from the announcer/commentator:
Important: please read in the slowest, most slurred, hick voice you can muster up....
Iraq= "big 'ol sand piles of war"
Apparently it is appropriate to ask the crowd if anyone is illegally in the US & then make Mexico jokes. "Raise your hands, hoop, & holler if you're in this country illegally!"
"If Bill ain't in heaven then I don't know what heaven is for, 'cause heaven was created for people like Bill." Who is Bill?
The show was complete with mutton bustin', barrel racing, steer wrestling, dressing baby goats in women's underwear-welcome to Arkansas, people- bucking bronco riding, & bull riding!
Oh & last but certainly not least was the stunt performance by The Wild Child. Don't know who that is? Well let me help you. "He has been in every major movie with every major actor & actress." Ring a bell?
Yeah, me neither. He did one stunt.
Poor little calf.
Ahh yes. Lemonade, sweet tea, & funnel cake.
NASA had a tent there...at the rodeo...I didn't get it either.
The rest of the weekend was filled with a lot of this:
On the 4th we did this:
The "lake overlook" portion of our hike. disappointment.
Ready to watch fireworks! The pictures of the actual fireworks didn't turn out so well but I bet you can guess what they looked like.
Happy Birthday America!
